Schools are no longer necessary because children can get so much information available through the Internet, and they can study just as well at home. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is believed by some people that there is no need for educational institutions anymore as the young generation can easily gain access to information on the World Wide Web and study on their own. I totally disagree with this point of view because I believe that schools provide young people with social experience and proper guidance which are lacking on the Internet.

The main reason why I think that educational establishments are still necessary is that they can offer young people a better social education. For example, when going to school, children can socialise with their peers as well as educators, whereas they spend most of their time on their own if they study online. For this reason, schools play a vital role as without them, students may lack interaction with their teachers and friends, causing them to lose essential qualities such as inter-personal skills and become more introverted.

Another reason for schools to remain essential is that they provide more efficient educational guidance compared with the Internet. It should be noted that some sources of information available on the cyberspace are unreliable or even misleading. This means that self-education through the World Wide Web is not necessarily beneficial, and that students should go to school to get proper instructions from actual teachers. Educational institutions, therefore, are still needed as almost only at these places do young people receive appropriate guides and learning materials.

In conclusion, I am completely convinced that schools still play a crucial role because not only do they give children more effective education but they also offer these individuals better social experience in comparison with online learning.
